Union Pacific Railroad Named 2009 Intermodal Rail Carrier of the Year by C. H. Robinson

OMAHA, Neb. – Union Pacific Railroad has been named 2009 Intermodal Rail Carrier of the Year by C. H. Robinson, one of the world’s largest third-party logistics companies.

The annual award is voted on by C.H. Robinson’s intermodal leadership team. Union Pacific’s selection was based on the railroad’s commitment to service and overall value to C. H. Robinson’s business. This is the first time Union Pacific has earned the award.

“C.H. Robinson is proud to honor Union Pacific with our 2009 Intermodal Rail Carrier of the Year award,” said Steve Weiby, C.H. Robinson vice president. “Union Pacific was a progressive and strategic supplier in a very challenging year. Its commitment to C.H. Robinson, overall service, and value are just a few of the reasons Union Pacific was chosen. We look forward to strengthening our relationship further in 2010.”

“Becoming a strategic supplier and delivering outstanding service are two ways we provide value to our customers,” said John Kaiser, Union Pacific vice president and general manager, Intermodal. “Everyone on our C.H. Robinson team played an important role in our 2009 performance and we will strive to deliver even higher levels of customer satisfaction in 2010.”
