CSX Intermodal’s Jim Hertwig to Retire; Clement to Succeed Hertwig

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — CSX Corp. announced the retirement of Jim Hertwig, President of CSX Intermodal, and the appointment of William Clement to succeed Hertwig, effective at the end of June.

“Jim Hertwig is an accomplished and highly respected executive in the transportation industry, and we wish him the very best in the future,” said Clarence Gooden, CSX Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer.

Clement, currently Assistant Vice President of Sales and Marketing for CSX Intermodal, has made significant contributions in a wide variety of operational, analytical and commercial roles within the Intermodal business over the past 20 years.

“Bill Clement brings the right combination of experience, customer relationships and strong leadership abilities to this job,” said Gooden. “Our Intermodal service offering is ideally positioned to meet our customers’ evolving supply chain requirements while addressing the environmental concerns of our customers and nation.”

Clement is a 1987 graduate of Jacksonville University with a B.S. in Marketing, and also holds an M.B.A. from the University of North Florida.
