Six people were killed and nine more injured after a Metro North train struck a vehicle on the tracks near Valhalla, according to published reports. A black Jeep was apparently stopped on the tracks when it was stuck by the train, which departed Grand Central Station about 45 minutes earlier, ABC News reported.
Norfolk Southern will close its Roanoke office building at 110 Franklin Road SE later this year and relocate the functions currently housed there to Atlanta or Norfolk, the company said today. Approximately 500 people currently work in the building in marketing, accounting, information technology, and other departments.
