Railfanning in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Union Station was one of the busiest railroad stations in the country.

Opened in 1894, it ceased operation as an active train terminal in 1978. The terminal reopened in August 1985.

Today, there is a hotel and an assortment of railroad cars – both in use and retired – at the old platforms.
