Two Killed in Texas Train Crash

Two people were killed after a Trinity Railway Express (TRE) train struck a dump truck yesterday at a grade crossing in Tarrant County, Texas, according to published reports.

The two people killed were in the dump truck. The gates at the crossing lowered before the truck crossed onto the tracks, reports indicate.

In addition to the fatalities, 11 people on the train were hospitalized. Two of those passengers were in critical condition, according to reports.

“Our trains do not take more than a few seconds,” fox4news.com quoted a DART spokesman as saying. “There is nothing on the other side that is worth your life. two people are dead. That’s tragic.”
