CN Locomotive Engineers, Conductors in Eastern Quebec, Northeastern New Brunswick Ratify New Collective Agreement

MONTREAL — CN said locomotive engineers and conductors who work on its rail lines in eastern Quebec and northeastern New Brunswick have ratified a new collective labour agreement.

The new agreement, in effect through Dec. 31, 2011, pays employees represented by the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference an hourly rate, with a wage increase to take effect Jan. 1, 2011.

Flexible work rules — similar to those in effect on CN’s Northern Quebec Internal Short Line — apply to 38 engineers and conductors based at Mont Joli, Que., and CampbelltonBathurst and Miramichi, N.B.
