Service Alert: Partial Restoration of Amtrak Service in Pacific Northwest

Amtrak will resume partial train service throughout the Pacific Northwest on Jan. 10. Service had been disrupted on several routes due to extreme weather conditions in the region. Full restoration of service for all routes is expected on Jan. 11.

Amtrak Cascades

There will be no train service the morning or January 10 between Seattle and Portland. Limited train operations will resume in the afternoon. Train service between Seattle and Bellingham or Vancouver, B.C. will remain suspended in the morning, with alternative motorcoach transportation provided. Normal train operations will resume in the afternoon.

Train service between Portland and Eugene, Ore. continues to operate normally. It is anticipated that normal service on all routes will resume Jan. 11.

Empire Builder

Trains 7(8) and (9) are canceled between Minneapolis and Seattle/Portland, with no alternate transportation. Trains 8(9) and (10) are cancelled between Seattle/Portland and Minneapolis, with no alternate transportation.

Coast Starlight

Train 11(10) will originate in Portland. Train 14(9) will operate through to Seattle. Trains 11(11) and 14(10) will operate normally.
