BLISSFIELD, Mich. — Adrian & Blissfield Rail Road, a Michigan based company which operates a number of freight and dinner train companies in Southeastern Michigan including the Old Road Blissfield Dinner Train, the oldest operating dinner train in the U.S., plus the Old Road Dinner Train Charlotte, will move its headquarters from Westland, Mich., to Blissfield in 2010.
Mark Dobronsky, A&B RR president, announced the new headquarters which is being relocated from Westland, where the A&B RR leased space.
The A&BRR will move to 124 Railroad Street, Blissfield, about 30 minutes south of Ann Arbor and 20 minutes north of Toledo and west of U.S. 23. The 12,000-square-foot facility will host a variety of A&B Departments including executive, administration, accounting, security, customer service, technology, reservations for the dinner train, operations, maintenance of way, engineering and communications and signals.
Kime Design, Inc. of Toledo, Ohio, is providing an architectural re-design with renovations of the facility expected to start Q1 2010.
With its corporate headquarters in Westland, Mich., just outside Detroit, the Adrian & Blissfield Rail Road Company consists of the parent company and four railroad companies.
The Adrian & Blissfield provides freight service in Lenawee County and operates The Old Road Dinner Train in Blissfield. The Charlotte Southern Railroad Company provides freight service in Eaton County plus The Old Road Dinner Train in Charlotte. The Detroit Connecting Railroad Company provides freight service in Eastern Wayne County and the Lapeer Industrial Railroad Company provides freight service in Lapeer County.
Both the Old Road Dinner Train Blissfield and the Old Road Dinner Train Charlotte offer weekend Dinner Train Service that includes a five course dinner, a comedy murder mystery and a cash bar along with variety of Special Trains such as Santa Trains during December.
