WASHINGTON – Amtrak set a new annual ridership record of 28.7 million passengers for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30 and collected a record $1.74 billion in ticket revenue.

WASHINGTON – During the Oct. 8 morning and evening commutes, Amtrak Police, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel and law enforcement officers from federal, state, local and rail police agencies around the country are being deployed at passenger rail stations in an exercise of expanded counterterrorism and incident response capabilities.

CSX, the State of New Jersey and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey celebrated the opening of the Liberty Corridor Freightway, a major public-private partnership that provides expanded access to the Port of New York and New Jersey.
