MARTA’s Track Replacement Project on the Red Line south of Medical Center Station is progressing well and is currently a few hours ahead of schedule.
Rail and rail ties, including the double crossover, are installed, and crews are dumping ballast and surfacing, with switch installation scheduled for later today.
MARTA is investing approximately $225 million in State of Good Repair work on its heavy rail lines to enhance the safety of the rail system, reduce train delays, and improve the customer experience. The Track Replacement Program is a multi-year effort to replace tracks and switches throughout the rail system.
