MARTA Trains Will Not Service Indian Creek Rail Station on Dec. 8-9 During Bridge Installation

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority will temporarily suspend rail service to Indian Creek Station on the Blue Line from Dec. 8 to 9 to install a new pedestrian bridge over the tracks.

During the closure, Kensington Station will temporarily serve as the Blue Line terminus. MARTA officials said the new bridge will improve pedestrian and bike access at the station and connect to a planned trail network.

The pedestrian bridge installation is part of the larger Indian Creek Station Rehabilitation Project designed to improve safety, accessibility, and overall customer experience. The project also includes heavy cleaning, new flooring, renovation of the western plaza, bus loop improvements and fare gate enhancements.

Bus shuttles will run between Indian Creek and Kensington Stations on Sunday, Dec. 8, and Monday, Dec. 9.

Bus routes serving Indian Creek will run as scheduled, and parking at the station will remain open. However, drivers are encouraged to park at Kensington that weekend if possible.
