CSX Transportation has filed a notice with the Surface Transportation Board to discontinue service over a roughly 7.5-mile rail line in Bergen County, New Jersey, and Rockland County, New York.

The line, part of its Albany Division, River Subdivision, Northern Running Track, runs from milepost QRN 15.09 in the Garden State to milepost QRN 22.6 in the Empire State.

CSXT has certified that no local traffic has moved over the line for at least two years, and any overhead traffic can be rerouted over other lines. The company also said that no formal complaint filed by a user of rail service or a state or local government entity regarding cessation of service over the line is either pending with the Surface Transportation Board or any U.S. District Court or has been decided in favor of a complainant within two years.
