MARTA Police Arrest 17-Year-Old for Aug. 13 Shooting at Holmes Rail Station

ATLANTA – Officers with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority Criminal Apprehension Team today arrested a man for the Aug. 13 shooting at H.E. Holmes rail station.

On Aug. 13, just before 2 p.m., the MARTA Police Department received a call about two men fighting in the taxi pick-up area of the station. This violent encounter escalated to a male victim being shot in the abdomen, and the shooter, 17-year-old Gabriel Webb-Williams, fled through the parking lot before officers arrived.

The victim was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for his injury.

At 7:45 a.m. today, officers with the CAT saw a man matching the description of the shooter at H.E. Holmes Station and arrested 17-year-old Gabriel Webb-Williams, who was in possession of a handgun at the time. Webb-Williams was booked into the Fulton County jail for aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and criminal use of an article with an alternate identification mark.
