CN announced a new monthly record for grain movement in November, moving nearly 3.3 million metric tonnes of grain from Western Canada.

That total is 230,000 metric tonnes higher than its previous record, set in November 2020. This is CN’s third consecutive record month for grain movement.

“Achieving a third consecutive record month of grain movement demonstrates what’s possible with strong customer collaboration, thoughtful planning, and a dedicated team of railroaders,” CN Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer Janet Drysdale said in a release.

CN officials also said the railroad continues to execute its winter operations plan across the network as the colder months have begun.
