BNSF Railway announced what it says is an expanded intermodal service offering between the Phoenix metropolitan area and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The service aims to provide customers with a faster, more economical and reliable transportation solution for freight moving between two of the Southwest’s fastest-growing markets.
The enhanced service is designed to support the conversion of over-the-road freight to rail, offering the Phoenix-to-North Texas route in just over three days (from train departure to availability) while leveraging the efficiency, capacity and reach of BNSF’s intermodal network. Due to increased customer demand, this expanded service will run six days a week.
This service utilizes the Alliance Intermodal Facility in North Texas, one of the nation’s premier inland logistics hubs. Alliance offers customers access to a robust transportation ecosystem, significant warehouse and distribution capacity, and connectivity to major consumer markets across the United States.
The expanded offering also lays the groundwork for future growth and expanded capacity in Arizona. Construction is underway for what will be BNSF’s second intermodal facility in the Phoenix area, Logistics Park Phoenix.
The first phase of LPP is set to open early 2027 and is designed to support continued economic growth and supply chain investment in the region. LPP is part of BNSF’s broader logistics park strategy, which connects industrial development with intermodal infrastructure to create additional supply chain efficiencies for customers.
