Robertson Named CSX AVP-Regional Development

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — CSX Transportation announced that Clark Robertson, a veteran of commercial real estate investment and management, has joined the company as Assistant Vice President-Regional Development. Robertson, who has significant experience in business development of port, intermodal and industrial properties and facilities, will report to Fredrik Eliasson, Vice President-Emerging Markets. Robertson was most recently First Vice President at ProLogis where he was responsible for several strategic alliances with marine ports and railroads. CSXT: Economic Development Efforts Drive Job Creation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Placing a substantial vote of confidence in rail transportation, customers committed to 92 new or expanded facilities on CSX Transportation (CSXT) lines in 2009. Upon completion, these projects will create nearly 1,400 new jobs, the company said. CSX, Georgia Formalize Railroad Security Partnership

ATLANTA – CSX Transportation and the state of Georgia have agreed to a “unique public-private” railroad security partnership they say will help protect the communities located along the railroad’s tracks. Under the “SecureNOW” partnership, the Georgia Emergency Management Agency-Office of Homeland Security can access CSXT’s Network Operations Workstation System. CSXT Continues to Invest in New Technology to Drive Efficiency and a Reduction in Emissions

CHICAGO — CSX Transportation said it continues to invest in technology to make its fleet of more than 4,000 locomotives as efficient as possible. Union Pacific Railroad, CSXT Launch RailChem Connect Between Texas and Southeast to Benefit Chemicals Customers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Union Pacific Railroad and CSX Transportation have launched RailChem Connect, a coordinated rail service for expedited transport of chemicals between the Texas Gulf Coast region and the Southeast. The new RailChem Connect service is the result of increased coordination and re-designed interline service by the two railroads for their chemicals market customers.  The service allows shipments to bypass smaller rail yards for expedited transit between major hubs.
