The Maryland Department of Transportation awarded $1.2 million in grant funding as part of the inaugural Freight Rail Grant Program, which the Department launched this year.

Jaguar Transport Holdings began operating the Columbia Basin Railroad and the Central Washington Railroad on Aug. 27, following the completion of its acquisition of the two rail lines.

At the request of the Georgia Central Railway, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced a three-day State Route 86 road closure in the Ohoopee community in conjunction with railroad crossing improvements in Toombs County.
