Senate President Nick Scutari called on NJ Transit to reverse its new policy of invalidating tickets sold with no expiration date and to continue to honor the full value of the unexpired tickets.

Raising the sales tax to fund NJ Transit’s budget deficit is a proposal staunchly opposed by New Jersey Assembly Republican Leader John DiMaio.

Following a press conference on the impacts of a proposed 2.5% Corporate Transit Fee on Tuesday, a few reports indicated the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) supported increasing of New Jersey sales tax as a funding source for the proposed tax on business.
