This Medal of Honor, given to Sergeant John Scott posthumously for his part in the Great Locomotive Chase, is housed at the new Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History, and is one of only a dozen or so of its kind in existence. The Medal was among the first ever given by the US Government and is part of the large collection of Civil War and railroad artifacts at the Southern Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate, located in Kennesaw, Georgia, 20 miles north of Atlanta.
