ADAMS, Tenn. – This tiny town in Robertson County developed along the Edgefield and Kentucky Railroad.
The road ran from north of the Cumberland River in Nashville to Guthrie, Ky., where it joined with the Memphis, Clarksville and Louisville and Louisville and Nashville railroads, among others.
The town is named in honor of Reuben Adams, a railroad stockholder.
According to a legend, a man who was killed by a train many years ago, still walks the tracks looking for his head.
