DULUTH, Ga. — The northern Atlanta suburb of Duluth makes for a great place to enjoy trains. Trains have been passing through the city for more than 145 years.
The Southeastern Railway Museum, located about two miles south of downtown Duluth, makes for a great railfanning experience. In addition to riding on vintage railroad equipment, the museum is a nice location to watch passing trains on the Norfolk Southern mainline, located adjacent to the museum property.
Sometimes, as was the case yesterday, the engineers of passing freights and the engineers of museum trains will engage in a back-and-forth horn battle.
