WASHINGTON — One of CSX Transportation’s GenSet locomotives will be on display Saturday at Washington’s Union Station, part of the third annual National Train Day event to celebrate the 141st anniversary of the transcontinental railroad. Celebrations, hosted by Amtrak, will take place coast to coast and highlight how trains have transformed America.

LANSING, Mich. – Starting May 10, passengers aboard the Amtrak Wolverine Service (Pontiac-Detroit-Chicago) and Blue Water (Port Huron-East Lansing-Chicago) trains can now travel directly to New Buffalo, Mich., and have the option of spending a day at the beach, returning home that night, or making a vacation of it, all from the new downtown station near the lakefront.
CHICAGO — CN said it has reached a voluntary mitigation agreement (VMA) with the Village of Barrington Hills, Ill., located approximately 40 miles northwest of Chicago, addressing the municipality’s environmental and safety concerns with CN’s acquisition of the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway Company (EJ&E).
