New York Operation Lifesaver (NYOL), a non-profit organization and leader of rail safety education, and Buffalo Southern Railroad hosted #STOPTrackTragedies, Mock Crash for Safety, on September 24, which closed out Rail Safety Week.

The entire Staten Island Railway fleet is now entirely made up of the standard R211 subway cars, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has received a $2 million federal grant from the United States Department of Transportation through its Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation Grants program.
