ATLANTA — Norfolk Southern is expected to announce this afternoon it is relocating its headquarters to Atlanta.
Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson will make an economic development announcement at 2 p.m. today at the State Capitol.
The company already maintains a significant presence in the Midtown section of Atlanta. The move has been speculated for months.
Norfolk Southern is currently headquartered in Norfolk, Va. Atlanta officials in October approved roughly $2 billion in incentives for the company.
