Locomotive No. 7 Departs Greenfield Village’s Smiths Creek Depot

DEARBORN, Michigan — Greenfield Village’s locomotive No. 7 departs the Smiths Creek Depot, built for the Grand Trunk Railway in 1858, in August 2024.

The locomotive, built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1897, was Henry Ford’s personal locomotive and donated by Ford to the museum in 1930.

Crews restored the steamer from 2007 to 2013.
