Union Tank Car Company (UTLX) and 225 Rail are pleased to announce a strategic partnership for railcar owners and shippers.
Located on the south side of the Houston Ship Channel, the collaboration between the two companies will involve UTLX providing railcar cleaning and repair services at 225 Rail’s 1,000-railcar storage terminal in Pasadena, Texas. The site is well-positioned to meet the growing demands of railcar owners and shippers in the region.
The PTRA serves 225 Rail with access to Union Pacific, BNSF and CPKC railroads, making this facility a low-freight and centrally located option for repair, requalification and cleaning services. Equipped to handle various railcar types, including tank cars and hopper cars, the repair facility aims to significantly reduce out-of-service time for car owners and shippers, ensuring improved fleet utilization through fast, reliable service.
225 Rail stores more than 1,000 railcars at its Pasadena terminal. It specializes in safely providing switching, storage, and transloading services.
UTLX is a Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway company.
