NJ Transit, Amalgamated Transit Union Reach Tentative Contract Agreement

NJ Transit and the Amalgamated Transit Union have reached a tentative contract agreement.

“We are pleased to announce a fair and fiscally responsible tentative agreement between NJ TRANSIT and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), representing more than 5,500 employees and the largest transit union at NJ TRANSIT,” NJ Transit and the union said in a joint statement. “While the specific details of the agreement are not currently available pending ATU leadership’s notification of its members, the terms are within the established pattern and reflect our mutual and ongoing commitment to fairness, efficiency, affordability, and financial sustainability for the hundreds of thousands of customers who depend on NJ TRANSIT bus service every day.”
