Spanish authorities say at least 39 people could be dead after a high-speed train crash in southern Spain, according to reports.
The Freccia 1000 train was traveling to Madrid when it apparently derailed on a straight stretch of track in Adamuz, crashing into an oncoming train. According to the BBC, at least 400 people were on board the two trains combined.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation and could take several weeks to determine.
