Cleveland Light Rail Work Included in Ohio Projects Approved in Draft Funding List

The Ohio Department of Transportation’s Transportation Review Advisory Council last week approved a draft funding list totaling $123.1 million for 11 major new projects in eight counties.

Among the six Tier I projects totaling $103.6 million, $10 million was allocated in fiscal 2027 for light rail track reconstruction for the Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority in the Cleveland area. Tier I projects are those recommended for construction during the upcoming four-year construction period.

A total of 27 projects applied for funding in this cycle. The public can comment on the draft list by emailing trac@dot.ohio.gov until April 16. TRAC will vote on the final list at its April 23 meeting.
