KC Streetcar Resumes Downtown Service Following Temporary Suspension

KANSAS CITY – KC Streetcar resumed full downtown service late Sunday afternoon after a temporary suspension to allow for track maintenance.

Downtown service between Union Station and the Riverfront was suspended Saturday evening after crews identified the need for repairs to a section of northbound track near 16th and Main Street. Maintenance crews worked around the clock to complete the necessary repairs and safely restore service.

Repairs to the surrounding track slab concrete were completed Sunday morning, and streetcars conducted test runs along the route by mid-afternoon before full service resumed.

Throughout the suspension, KC Streetcar service between Union Station and UMKC continued to operate as scheduled. Bus service supplemented the downtown segment between Union Station and the Riverfront to maintain connectivity for riders.
