For the eighth straight year, Forbes has named NJ Transit to its renowned America’s Best-in-State Employers 2026 list.

For the fourth straight year, NJ Transit again ranked #1 in the Transportation and Logistics category and 71st out of 90 employers in New Jersey. The survey, according to Forbes, ranks leading companies worldwide to identify those most liked by employees.

This recognition builds upon NJ Transit’s standard of excellence after being recognized nationally as one of Forbes’ America’s Best Employers in 2024 and 2025, as well as the winner of the coveted 2023 American Public Transportation Association award for Outstanding Public Transportation System from among the largest transportation systems in North America.

Forbes’ 8th annual America’s Best-in-State Employers list was created in partnership with market research firm Statista, which anonymously surveyed over 245,000 full- and part-time workers at companies across the United States with more than 500 employees.

No more than 100 employers are recognized in any one state. Considering survey data from the past four years allowed agencies that consistently perform well to distinguish themselves from organizations that may have had only one good year.
