Eco-Energy has started operations at its newly built renewable feedstock distribution facility in Newton, Iowa.
The facility will allow Marathon Petroleum Company to aggregate renewable feedstocks such as distillers, corn oil, soybean oil, animal fats and used cooking oil from throughout Iowa for outbound distribution to the rapidly growing renewable diesel space.
The Newton site has 32 tank car offload spots, 1.2 million gallons of dedicated feedstock storage, and high-speed truck offloading and rail loading capability. The facility will be accessible by the Iowa Interstate Railroad, ensuring outbound products can be directly distributed by all North American Class I railroads.
“We are excited to have completed this renewable feedstock project and look forward to being an active member of the Newton community,” Eco-Energy COO Chadwick Conn said in a release. “This project again highlights our team’s ability to collaborate, align incentives, and generate clear value-add throughout the supply chain.”
