Overview
The earliest incarnation of Pennsylvania Railroad’s Exchange Place station in Jersey City, the then-terminus of its rail line, opened in 1834. Here, passengers bound for New York City transferred to a ferry to destinations in Manhattan. The new Penn Station in New York City opened in 1910.
