Skerne Bridge

Overview

The Skerne Bridge, built for the Stockton and Darlington Railway, carried the first train on Sept. 27, 1825, the railroad’s opening day. The Grade I listed building still carries trains, making it the oldest railway bridge in continuous use in the world.
