Curtis Bashaw, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in New Jersey, said he opposed a NJ Transit fare hike, arguing that commuters shouldn’t pay more for NJ Transit’s and Amtrak’s failures.

NJ Transit officials cut the ribbon on a renovated Elizabeth Station that includes additional platform capacity, new station buildings and a renovated public plaza.
