BNSF Railway Co. has announced that its planned capital expenditures for 2015 will be $6 billion, which the railroad says will go toward maintenance and expansion of the railroad in order to meet the expected demand for freight rail service.
BNSF is training 500 Washington first responders and by early October the railroad will surpass its goal of training 600 first responders in community hazmat trainings that are being held throughout the state.
BNSF Railway Co. last week said it is planning to spend $5 billion on capital expenditures in 2014, which would be a new single-year record for the company and a $1 billion increase over its 2013 capital spend.
