Biography
Henry Parkerson Haney (November 25, 1846–November 19, 1923) was a Western & Atlantic Railroad fireman and the last known survivor of the Great Locomotive Chase of April 12, 1862.
At age 15, he served as fireman aboard the locomotive Texas, which was used by conductor William A. Fuller and others to pursue the stolen General after it was seized by Andrews’ Raiders at Big Shanty (present-day Kennesaw). Following the Civil War, Haney remained associated with Atlanta and the Atlanta Fire Department.
