CN today announced a re-alignment of its organizational structure in the United States to reflect more closely the geographical and operational balance of the company resulting from the acquisition of the Wisconsin Central Transportation Corp. in 2001.

Al Crown, executive vice president-transportation, announced that veteran railroader Paul Reistrup will retire on December 31, 2002, following successful integration of CSX Transportation’s passenger and commuter rail network.

Freight traffic on U.S. railroads was up during the week ending Dec.14, in comparison with the same week last year, the Association of American Railroads reported.
