MARIETTA, Ga. — The Gem City of Georgia offers great railfanning vantage points.

Dozens of freight trains pass through town, which grew up along the Western and Atlantic Railroad’s main lines. The tracks run just a block from the city square Sand offer a safe viewing area of this heavily traveled main line.
