ATLANTA – The chief of staff of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority is leaving the agency, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported.
Melissa Mullinax joined MARTA in July 2018, according to her LinkedIn page. The Atlanta Business Chronicle, citing a memo, reported that Oct. 11 would be Mullinax’s last day and that she is working with MARTA General Manager and CEO Collie Greenwood on a succession plan.
Before joining the agency, Mullinax served as senior advisor to previous Atlanta mayors Keisha Lance Bottoms and Kasim Reed.
It’s been a rough few months for MARTA.
In August, Atlanta city officials say a review of the More MARTA Atlanta program for fiscal 2017 through fiscal 2022 concluded that it is due roughly $70 million. However, MARTA officials say the independent auditor’s calculations are wrong.
