The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority will temporarily stop rail service to Indian Creek Station on the Blue Line on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9, 2024, to install a new pedestrian bridge over the tracks.
For the two days, Kensington Station will serve as the temporary end of the Blue Line. The new bridge will improve pedestrian and bike access on the station’s north side and connect to a planned trail network.
The pedestrian bridge installation is part of the larger Indian Creek Station Rehabilitation Project designed to improve safety, accessibility, and overall customer experience. The project also includes heavy cleaning, new flooring, renovation of the western plaza, bus loop improvements and fare gate enhancements.
On Sunday, Dec. 8, and Monday, Dec. 9, bus shuttles will run between Indian Creek and Kensington Stations. Bus routes serving Indian Creek will run as scheduled, and parking at the station remains open, although drivers are encouraged to park at Kensington that weekend if possible.
