HOMERVILLE, Georgia — Norfolk Southern is temporarily closing U.S. Highway 441 at the railroad crossing in the city of Fargo in Clinch County, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.
The closure began Monday, June 29, and will remain in place through 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 2.
Traffic will be detoured via State Route 94, State Route 129 and U.S. Highway 84. The road will reopen early if work is completed ahead of schedule, or may be closed longer if weather delays the work, officials said.
U.S. Highway 441 will remain open to local traffic up to the work zone. The existing single-track railroad crossing operated by Norfolk Southern will be closed for rail maintenance.
