Audi AG has selected a Peach County, Georgia, site served by Norfolk Southern for its first U.S. manufacturing facility.
Officials said that the Middle Georgia Megasite offers access to Norfolk Southern’s rail network, with the ports of Savannah and Brunswick less than five hours away by rail. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is about a 90-minute drive from the site, while two regional airports are within 25 minutes.
Audi plans to spend roughly $4 billion on the facility and is expected to create 4,500 jobs.
The facility will produce premium SUVs for the North American market, with site grading expected to begin in 2027 and construction scheduled to start in 2028. Full production is anticipated in 2031, with an annual capacity of approximately 200,000 vehicles.
