BOCA RATON, Fla. — RailAmerica, Inc., a leading operator of regional and short line roads, announced that Josh Putterman was named Assistant Vice President and Darryl Gabriel was named Regional Chief Engineer effective August 27.

Josh Putterman joins RailAmerica from CSX where he served for 16 years. He began his career in economic analysis and held numerous positions in Regional Finance, Operations Improvement and Locomotive Planning. He was most recently the Assistant Vice President in Advanced Engineering, Service Design as CSX headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla.
Putterman will now report to Paul Lundberg, Vice President, with responsibilities for project management of RailAmerica’s business relationships with the Class I Railroads. He will be based at RailAmerica’s headquarters in Boca Raton, Fla.

Darryl Gabriel joins RailAmerica with 34 years of railroad experience. From Florida East Coast Railway where he served as a General Director of Maintenance, Gabriel began his railroad career with Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway where he started as a Trackman.
He has also held positions as a Track Supervisor, Roadmaster, Assistant Division Engineer and Division Engineer. He will report to Ray Stephens, Regional Vice President, and be responsible for leading the engineering and maintenance activities for eight regional and short line railroads located in the Central United States. He will be based at RailAmerica’s Central Region headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
