The Federal Railroad Administration has awarded more than $108 million in funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which some call the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, to nine projects in Alaska, South Dakota and Wyoming.

After failing to reach a final-hour agreement, some 45,000 members of the International Longshoreman Association walked off the job Tuesday, shutting down 36 seaports from Maine to Texas, including in Charleston.

Members of the International Longshoremen’s Association went on strike at midnight, leading to what some fear could be a damaging work stoppage at 14 U.S. ports from Maine to Texas.
