New Zealand’s government has approved workers to resume work on the City Rail Link, and workers are “champing at the bit” to resume the project.

KiwiRail said it is taking advantage of reduced commuting on the Auckland network to conduct track maintenance.

Dunedin Railways Limited is mothballing its track and equipment as the COVID-19 pandemic compounds “the company’s existing financial challenges,” officials said.
