Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has suspended Atlanta streetcar service after a safety inspection found broken bolts on two switches and wheel issues.

MARTA will run more frequent train service through downtown Atlanta this Saturday, Dec. 3, for the SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium between the Georgia Bulldogs and LSU Tigers, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m.

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has donated a railcar from the Authority’s original fleet to the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth.
