“A Brief History of the Indiana, Alabama & Texas Railroad,” published by The DeFeo Groupe, an Atlanta-based content creation firm and publisher of Railfanning.org, focuses on the development and operation of the railroad, including the decade before the railroad formally formed. The book will be available starting in August.

A Look Back: 1957 Guthrie Wreck Killed Six, But More Could Have Died
The Louisville & Nashville Railroad’s Chicago-to-Miami Dixieland Flyer passenger train approached the junction at Guthrie at about 4:30 or 4:45 p.m. on June 29, 1957, as a westbound 29-car freight train, No. 121, heading toward Memphis and pulled by two locomotives, approached the at-level crossing.
