Celebrate Cabooses and Locomotives at the Southeastern Railway Museum

DULUTH, Ga. — The Southeastern Railway Museum will hold special events in April and June.

The museum will celebrate cabooses, the crews that called them home and their role on the railroad during Caboose Days. In addition to rides on vintage cabooses, guests can also enjoy food and movies showing cabooses in action. The museum will host the family-friendly two-day event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 7-8.

In June, the museum will celebrate its vintage locomotive collection from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 9-10. In addition to the museum’s regular exhibits, there will be demonstrations of vintage whistles, and docents in period attire will highlight the museum’s collection of more than a dozen steam and diesel-electric locomotives.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday between March and May and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday in June and July.
