Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Mayor James R. Knight Jr. could announce whether the city will accept a $175,000 bid to buy the historic Hopkinsville train depot, the Hoptown Chronicle reported.

A decision could come as soon as a Tuesday city council meeting.

According to the outlet, the city declared the building, which dates to 1892, to be surplus property. Per abid solicitation the city posted to Facebook, whoever buys the building must maintain the structure’s historical and architectural appearance as it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Kentucky New Era reported that B. Allen Brown II, president and CEO of Railmark Holdings Inc., offered to pay $175,000 in case for the bid, which is higher than another bid of $2,000. The building needs roughly $2 million in repairs, according to the Chronicle.
